I.e., how current economic circumstances for most musicians and writers impacts their output, how that intersects with the dissolution of local scenes into a national or international internet market, and how the need to struggle through precarious work that’s often unrelated to art impacts the direction, form, and quality of art and art criticism. These topics kinda seem well analyzed now that I’m thinking about it, but your focus on DIY and music journalism could give you a really unique lens to look at this stuff through.
